Escondido shoppers on a budget will want to know that the local Goodwill store, the home of gently used clothing and household goods, will be moving to a larger location in 2021.
Construction of the new location shut down in March due to the pandemic. In late August, Goodwill Industries announced construction will resume at the property, which it purchased in November 2019.
When complete, the new building will be 16,000 sq. ft., compared to the 7,113 sq. ft. building in which it currently is housed in 506 West Washington. The new facility will be more than just a used clothing store; it will also be home to a Community Employment Center, which will have 2,000 sq. ft. of dedicated space with its own private entrance.
Goodwill stores across the country have been closed since March 15. More than 500 employees were temporarily let go across the country, but many are getting hired back as stores reopen. Almost half of Goodwill employees have a disability, or have other conditions or situations that prevent them from easily finding work.
When a business changes locations, it is important to use flyer printing and other printing services to raise public awareness of the new location, not to mention the need for new Business Cards and other Stationery materials.
The new Goodwill store and Community Employment Center is located at the corner of West Washington and Escondido Blvd. The location was formerly a Rite-Aid Pharmacy. It is expected to open its doors in early April.
