International Guitar Night is celebrating 20 years with an eclectic musical show in Escondido, featuring some of the world’s most gifted guitar players.
Brian Gore founded the touring musical show in 2000. Now, in 2020, this Anniversary Tour's lineup is as diverse as the different types of guitar music.
Four guitar musicians will take the stage in a night of completely different guitar styles. English guitarist Mike Dawes is the guest-host. Dawes is known for his contemporary, two-handed technique which makes his guitar explode with rich sounds and dynamic textures. He can simultaneously play several parts of a song, making it sound like an orchestra of stringed instruments.
Other guitarists include Cenk Erdongan, who will showcase his unique Turkish style on a fretless guitar. Olli Soikelli, from Finland, is a young up-and-coming jazz instrumentalist who now makes the jazz clubs of New York City home. Grammy-winner Jim “Kimo” West will also add his Hawaiian “slack key” vibes to the stage.
Tickets are available online and range in price from $35 to $45.
