Tasty fun awaits in Encinitas

Encinitas is gearing up for a party that features wine, food, and fun.

The 20th Annual Encinitas Rotary Wine & Food Festival will be held at the Encinitas Ranch Golf Course on Quail Gardens Road. The event is a fundraiser, and the proceeds will be divided among several 501(c)(3) charities, all of which fall into two general types: Community Charities and Children’s Charities. People who purchase tickets can choose which charity to support. Among the organizations are The Rancho Coastal Humane Society, the San Diego North Coast Singers, and the Assistance League of Rancho San Diego.

More than 25 beverage vendors are expected to attend, including the Duck Foot Brewing Company, Trevi Hills Winery, Henebery Spirits, and Local Roots Kombucha. Food will be provided by over 21 local restaurants such as the Isabelle Briens French Pastry Café, The Fish Market, and Mendocino Farms. Local musicians will be providing live entertainment, and a silent auction will have over $5,000 worth of items up for bidding.

Encinitas prides itself on the fact this is a Green Event. In 2008, 600 people attended the festival and generated more than three dumpsters full of trash. In 2010, with 700 attendees, efforts to go green meant the festival generated under five gallons of waste.

The festival is Saturday, June 3, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with the Sponsors’ Party starting at 3:00 pm. Organizers of events like this can advertise it using poster printing.
