Spooky doings in Encinitas
A special Halloween event is coming up in Encinitas for the second year in a row.
The Heritage Ranch and the Ovation Theatre are teaming up once more to present the Haunted Ghost Town, featuring the story of Bitter Gulch, a town that offers family-friendly tours. According to the legend, during the days of the Gold Rush, people swore they would do whatever it took to make their fortune. While there were people who managed to achieve their wealth, there were yet others who unfortunately died in the process. Everyone in Bitter Gulch eventually perished, although according to legend, not everyone seems to have fully moved on.
During the upcoming event, people will be able to take a trip through Bitter Gulch, which is sometimes referred to as the Californian version of Brigadoon. Visitors to this magical town will learn the history of the Gold Rush, but organizers warn them to be wary, lest they meet some of the inhabitants who are seeking redemption, or perhaps even revenge.
The attraction is still looking for volunteers who would like to join in the fun as “scare actors” to add to the thrills.
The attraction will open for seven nights, beginning October 20 from 5.00pm until 8.45pm. Further dates can be checked on their website and social media pages. Organizers of events like this can advertise it with handouts created by using flyer printing.
