Say prost in Encinitas for Oktoberfest

An event in Encinitas will give attendees a chance to brush up on their German.

The 28th Annual Encinitas Chamber of Commerce Oktoberfest is festive and free, and has been celebrated for almost three decades. The first Oktoberfest was held in Munich in 1810 to celebrate the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. The event has since moved to September, and spread worldwide.

Oktoberfest in Encinitas celebrates the German heritage of the area by displaying products from local artisans, providing German refreshments as well as other cuisines that will be available in an international food court, and setting up an authentic beer garden where festival attendees will be able to enjoy Bavarian dance and musical performers. Carnival rides are also planned.

A section for vendors will be set aside, and people enjoying the day will be able to examine hand-crafted items from local artisans, as well as exhibits by businesses in Encinitas. Among the partners and sponsors of the event are Leaf Filter, Renewal by Anderson, and Enterprise Bank & Trust. It’s likely some of them will have exhibits for those who would like to learn more about their products and services.

Oktoberfest is September 29, from 11.00 am until 7.00 pm, stretching down Mountain Vista Drive for one-third of a mile. Furry friends are also welcome. Fun events like this are often enhanced with themed decorations created by using banner printing.
