Erick Tyler & the Vibe is Erick Tyler on guitar; PJ Sweeney on drums; and Caelan Bentley on bass. All three are vocalists as well, taking inspiration from reggae, funk, and rock. The band got its start in 2019, the year it released Album 1. They undertook a Cali Summer Tour during June, July, and August of that year, visiting Fresno, Morro Bay, Lake Tahoe, Sacramento, and other venues in the Bay Area.
Tyler talks about the early days of the group, noting that at first they were doing little more than taking gigs to pay the rent, and working without a booking agent or manager, instead calling on hard work or their increasing success. They recently released Album 2, and filmed a music video of “Burning It Down.” The band will be playing throughout California again this year, including an appearance at the San Diego County Fair on July 4.
