The Peter Sprague Quintet will give a concert at the Encinitas Public Library. The group comprises Peter Sprague on guitar; drummer Duncan Moore; Mack Leighton on bass; Tripp Sprague handling piano, flute, and sax; and Allison Adams Tucker, vocalist. Organizers of events like this can advertise them by creating colorful advertising using poster printing.
Sprague often plays gigs in and around the San Diego area where he plays the music of other artists. Among the musicians he honors by playing their materials are Carole King and Paul Simon. Sprague says he became an admirer of Simon the moment he heard the opening chords of “Scarborough Fair.” Sprague also invites others, such as guitarist Leonard Patten, to sit in with his group.
A review says:
“Peter is amazing... The level of precision and discipline he brings to his music is something that he makes seem easy, but is in fact one of the most difficult things a guitarist can be asked to do. He is absolutely masterful at it.”
The group will appear next Sunday, September 4, from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm, and will be playing a concert called “Peter Sprague Plays Paul Simon: Angels in the Architecture.” The library is on Cornish Drive.
