Food and fun await in Encinitas

Encinitas will be the place to go soon for a taste of great food and drink.

The annual Taste of Encinitas is back, and more than 15 restaurants are gearing up to provide samples of their best food and beverages. Local wineries and brewers will have their products available at 20 “Sip Stops” scattered throughout the city’s downtown, hosted by salons and shops. For those who are driving or prefer not to drink, non-alcoholic “Sip Stops” will also be available. Various venues will host entertainers who will provide live music to enhance the experience.

To protect the environment, Encinitas 101 will give each attendee a reusable cup, and participating restaurants are asked to use eco-friendly utensils and plates. In addition, using Styrofoam is prohibited.

Taste Stops include the Lotus Café & Juice Bar, the Broad Street Dough Co., and The Roxy. Vendors supplying the “sips” for the “Sip Stops” include JuneShine, Duck Foot, and the Sipwell Wine Company, whose products will be available at Candles on Top, Gypsy Feather, and Concept Surf Shop.

Some of the performers and locations are The Sea Monks, who will appear at The Lumberyard Courtyard, and Flamenco guitarist David De Alva, who can be found at Gelato 101.

Taste of Encinitas is scheduled for Tuesday, August 2, from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm, throughout Downtown Encinitas. When events such as this are planned, attendees can benefit from having maps to vendors’ locations, which can be created by organizers using flyer printing.
