A special film festival is coming to Encinitas.
Mountainfilm on Tour will be in Encinitas soon to present a collection of short documentary films. The movies explore intriguing people and places all over the world. Among the films scheduled to be shown are “Finding Hetch Hetchy,” a ten-minute film about the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir in Yosemite and efforts to restore it; and “Fight or Flight,” the story of Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s first woman pilot.
The event will be held outdoors, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own pillows, blankets, or low-backed lawn chairs to sit comfortably. Delicious hot food will be available from on-site food trucks, and unlimited adult beverages will also be available. Film fans who donate $25 will receive a Mountainfilm on Tour Encinitas Pint Cup. Alternatively, people may bring their own containers and enjoy beverages for $10. A silent auction and raffle are also planned to support Pachamama Alliance, and Foster the Earth. Descriptive programs are usually part of events like this, and can be created using brochure printing.
The film fun is scheduled for October 13, at the EUSD Farm Lab/The Ecology Center in Encinitas. The gates will be opening at 5.00 pm, with the screenings starting at 7.00 pm. Unfortunately, dogs will not be allowed, and people may not bring in outside food. Some of the films have mature content and are only suitable for those 12 years of age and older.
