A popular event is returning to Encinitas to help people welcome spring.
The Encinitas Spring Street Fair is literally held in the street—it runs down the middle of a six-block section of South Coast Highway 101, a thoroughfare that runs north-south just two blocks from the ocean. The fair is extremely popular and draws large crowds who come to visit the vendors who set up shop in their booths.
Visitors to the fair, which has been an annual event since 1983, will find four live entertainment stages, children’s rides, food from around the world, and a beer garden featuring craft brews. The wide variety of participants makes it a certainty that everyone will find something they will enjoy.
The Spring Fair puts the emphasis on ethnic imports, antiques, handcrafted items, and artistic projects. However, fair organizers accept commercial vendors if their displays and merchandise are suitable for the event.
Organizers want to warn people who are thinking of attending the fair that parking is prohibited on Highway 101 on Saturday and Sunday between J and D Streets, from 4:00 am until 6:00 pm. Police will tow any cars parked in this area, and Signs will be up to remind drivers about the parking.
The Spring Street Fair is two days long, running April 29 and 30 from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm both days. Signage, both for warning purposes and to identify vendors, can easily be created for organizers of events using banner printing companies.
