Encinitas summer concerts winding down

Encinitas is presenting the last concert of the season soon, and is inviting everyone.

The Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department presents Sunday Summer Concerts by the Sea each year, and is hosting The Mighty Untouchables at the next event. The band is based in San Diego and is known for its appearances at weddings, philanthropic events, and both corporate and private parties.

Currently, the band has seven members, all professional musicians with extensive experience. Mark Fulton is the bandleader, plays guitar, and does vocals. He has appeared with Edgar Winter, Greg Allman, and Charlie Daniels. Mike Holguin plays drums and handles vocals, and is the group’s musical director. Vocalist Leonard Tucker is also performing with The Fifth Dimension, while vocalist Donovan Hurst is currently the lead singer for the rock band The Young Gents.

Danielle Tucker performs vocals in many different styles, and has her own country group. Keyboardist Bobby Cressey’s work can be heard in the soundtrack for “Thor 2: The Dark World.” Rounding out the group is bass guitarist Greg Merrill, whose career includes appearances with the Royal Russian Orchestra and the San Diego Symphony.

The group will be performing current hits, classic rock, Motown, and more, drawing on songs from the likes of David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Prince, Ed Sheeran, and Earth, Wind & Fire.

The concert will take place on Moonlight Beach in Encinitas this Sunday, August 18, starting at 3:00 pm. Poster printing is often used to advertise events like this.
