To celebrate the arrival of spring, Rita's Italian Ice in Encinitas plans to give away sweet treats to its customers.
Giving away free ices has been a tradition at Rita's for 24 years. All the shops in the country are participating, including the location in Encinitas.
Those customers who go to Rita's for their free ice have an opportunity to win additional goodies. If they take a photo of their “cool treat” and put it on Twitter and Instagram, using the hashtag #RitasFirstDayOfSpring, they will be entered in Rita's photo contest.
The first day of spring is March 20, which is the date of the giveaway. All customers who take photos to post on social media using the RitasFirstDayOfSpring hashtag should do so between March 20 and 25. If they do, they will be eligible to win free ices for a year. A panel of judges will choose three winners, who will be named on March 31 via Rita's various social media outlets.
The Encinitas Rita's Italian Ice is located at 578 Santa Fe Drive. Managers could make the occasion even more fun by working with a banner printing company to create festive flags to hang at the location on the 20th. Since Banners are printed on vinyl, they are tough and suitable for repeated use, whether indoors and outside.
