Encinitas celebrates sustainability

A day celebrating sustainability is planned in Encinitas.

I Love A Clean San Diego is hosting the 10th Annual Encinitas Sustainable Solutions Fair, a day devoted to environmental issues.

The event begins at 10.00 am, when the swap, activities, and booths will open. From 11.30 am until 12.30 pm, regional experts will conduct a Q&A session, and at 12.45 pm, the drop-off box for donations will close. The event ends at 1.00 pm.

The Q&A will be led by representatives from EDCO, Plastic Beach, and Surfrider. The Surfrider Foundation had its beginning 40 years ago, when surfers from Malibu organized to protect their favorite beach from coastal development. The Surfrider Foundation formally organized in 1984, and is one of the largest grassroots, volunteer, activist organizations dedicated to protecting beaches, waves, and oceans worldwide.

Plastic Beach is an Encinitas recycling company that collects and downcycles soft plastics like bubble wrap and grocery Bags, which are often thrown out after one use. They transform them into products like composite decking.

In addition to the Q&A there will be a Swap & Shop of clothing and household items, an opportunity to recycle electronic waste with Goodwill San Diego, hands-on DIY activities, prizes donated by local businesses, and booths from sustainable organizations.
Fairs and celebrations like these continue to benefit greatly from flyer printing, which is a grass roots cost effective promotion method for events.

The fair will be held June 22, from 10.00 am until 1.00 pm, at the Encinitas Community Park, located at 425 Santa Fe Drive.
