The City of Encinitas Cultural Arts Division is responsible for the Civic Arts Program that includes Wednesdays@Noon, the North Coast Symphony Orchestra, and Music by the Sea.
Coming up is a performance by cellist Amit Peled, who is returning to Encinitas as part of the Music by the Sea series. His previous appearance thrilled audiences, and he is poised to repeat the experience.
Peled is both an artist and an educator. As a cellist, he has performed in some of the most legendary venues in the world, including the Konzerthaus Berlin, London’s Wigmore Hall, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and Carnegie Hall. He has released more than a dozen recordings on various labels, and in 2015, Musical America named him one of its Top 30 Influencers of the year.
Since 2003, Peled has been Professor of Strings at the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University. A concert review says:
“Peled's performance went beyond the realms of flawless technical precision to a dreamy netherworld.”
Peled will perform at the Community Room of the Encinitas Library, 540 Cornish Drive, on January 24 at 7.00 pm. When events like this are planned, organizers often use flyer printing to create handouts to promote them in the immediate area.
