Bug-lovers will love Insect Festival in Encinitas

Anyone who is considering a career in entomology—or who just likes creepy-crawly things—has a day coming up just for them.

The Insect Festival is a unique event that features thousands of creatures including snakes, lizards, spiders, and live insects, among them Madagascar's famous hissing cockroaches. Visitors to the festival will be able to watch the insects, and can even touch a few of them. Attendees will also be able to create a craft project inspired by insects, and take it home with them. They can also try asking tough questions of experts in entomology to try and stump them.

The San Diego Botanic Garden's collection comprises more than 4,000 unique plants, many from exotic locations around the globe. The garden also gives visitors an opportunity to learn about plants native to California, particularly the coastal maritime chaparral. The Garden preserves a small portion of the chaparral, which is an endangered environment, within its grounds.

The Insect Festival will be held for two days, from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm, on July 18 an 19, at the San Diego Botanic Garden on Quail Gardens Drive in Encinitas. Admission to the Insect Festival is free to those who have a membership at the Garden, or who pay general admission for the day. Flyer printing is an excellent method to use in creating informative handouts for attendees at events such as this.
