Covina offers free e-waste drop off weekend

A call has gone out to Covina households to let them know of an event on the way that will help them safely dispose of their unwanted electronics and other e-waste.

A free e-waste recycling event will be held in the city, and it will be spread out over two days so as many as possible can take advantage of the offer. Both working and non-working items will be welcome, and many types will be accepted.

The collection point will be set up at Smart and Final at 114 Azusa Avenue. The list of what can be dropped off ranges from computer monitors and televisions to fax machines, toner cartridges, cell and landline phones, forklift and car batteries, and motherboard systems. A service charge will be applied for major appliances, and household batteries and fluorescent light bulbs will not be accepted.

Community shreds, e-waste recycling, yard sales, and other activities can all help reduce the amount that ends up in local waste streams. A flyer printing company can prepare recyclable mailers, door hangers, and other materials to help raise public awareness about an upcoming event.

Covina will offer its free E-Waste Recycling weekend on November 7 and 8, with both days running from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. Additional details, including what will and what will not be accepted, can be found on the city's website.
