Lyle Lovett is a native of Texas, whose career shows the importance of connections and coincidences. Lovett started his career as a songwriter and singer, and had been gaining notoriety in Texas in the 1980s. In 1983, he appeared at the Schueberfouer in Luxembourg at the invitation of Buffalo Wayne, an American vocalist who he met in Germany in 1978. An American music tent was part of the Schueberfouer (fun fair), and the owner of that attraction was a fan of J. David Sloan and the Rogues, a house band from Phoenix, Arizona.
He invited the Rogues to appear at the event, and they in turn asked Lovett to sit in, marking the first time Lovett sang with a band. He discovered what his songs sounded like with good backing. He went on to record 18 songs with the Rogues, which comprised his debut album, 1986’s self-titled “Lyle Lovett.”
He has numerous credits as a television and film actor, and a concert review says:
“I can say without a doubt that this is easily one of the coolest shows I have ever seen."
Lyle Lovett and his Acoustic Group will be at the Segerstrom Concert Hall for two shows, March 8 and March 9, with both shows beginning at 8.00pm. When events like this are arranged, organizers will often turn to brochure printing to create programs.
