Scottsdale's Old Town will soon be turned into Scottsdazzle with twinkling lights and seasonal activities.
Talented local artists are painting holiday scenes on downtown business windows getting ready for the Tinsel Trail, which will open on Saturday, November 29. Maps will be available that give the locations of each store front and a little blurb about the artist. The trail will available until December 30.
Also, Santa will be waiting for little ones and posing for photos at the Old Town Scottsdale Farmers Market, 3806 N Brown Avenue, from 9:00 am to noon. Photos taken early in the season will still have time to go to local Print shops and be added to family newsletters and next year's family Calendars.
That evening, Jingle & Jazz Tree Lighting Spectacular will feature The New Guard Big Band giving a jazz performance, dance presentations, kids activities, and lighting of the 36-foot Christmas tree. Stetson Plaza will be lined with boutiques offering seasonal gifts. Scottsdazzle Toyland will have crafts and materials for writing letters to Santa.
The free event will take place from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Scottsdale Waterfront Canal Bank, 7135 E Camelback Road.
This will also be Shop Scottsdale Saturday, and everyone is invited to support local small businesses. The Jingle Belles will be singing carols and strolling their way through the 5th Avenue Shopping District and Historic Old Town from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Shop Scottsdale Saturday will take place from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
