The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts is hosting a concert by Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives this September.
Lead singer and creative force Marty Stuart made his mark early on in his career primarily in the world of country, achieving everything from a Country Music Hall of Fame induction to an AMA Lifetime Achievement Award.
However, over Stuart’s career that has spanned more than half a century, his sound and musical collaborations have evolved considerably. Having accompanied artists such as Johnny Cash and Lester Flatts, Stuart went on to create a unique solo career.
In the past 20 years, the evolution of his sound has come in the form of his band, Marty Stuart and The Fabulous Superlatives, performing numbers from not only the world of country, but rockabilly, bluegrass, gospel, and surf music, too.
Stuart is also a five-time Grammy winner, known for his hits “Same Old Train” and the Travis Tritt collaboration “The Whiskey Ain’t Working,” as well as scoring movies and TV shows, including the film “All The Pretty Horses.”
