Scottsdale continues online and in-person performances

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts is continuing to present its dance and classical music performances with online and in-person formats for 2021.

No Boundaries, an in-person and livestream Classical Lounge Series, will take place on Sunday January 17, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. The performance will be curated by MusicaNova. This will be a classic concert featuring composers such as Mozart, Still, Cohen, Coleman, and Ewazen.

Pianist Jeffrey Siegel will celebrate Beethoven by playing the composer’s Sonata op. 110, and his Moonlight Sonata on Tuesday, January 19. This will be an in-person event.

Another in-person event will be Brooklyn Rider with Vadym Kholodenko at the piano, who will take over the Virginia G. Piper Theater stage on January 27 at 7:30 pm. This group has been described as “the future of chamber music.”

The Alonzo King Lines Ballet will perform on Friday, January 29 and 30, at 8:00 pm with an in-person format. The ballet will dance two works – “The Personal Element” and AZOTH.

MusicaNova Orchestra will end the month with an in-person and virtual classical concert featuring Moz-Art a la Haydn by Alfred Schnittke, Svitani by Quinn Mason, Gamelan for String Orchestra by Graham Cohen, and Haydn’s Farewell Symphony on Sunday, January 31 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.

The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts is asking for donations from individuals or through corporate gifts.
