Mesa Mother's Day celebrated with mariachi concert
Many Mesa moms will be marking this Mother's Day weekend with their families by enjoying ballet folkloric dancers and exhilarating music at Amor Eterno, a Mother's Day Mariachi Concert.
Hosted by the East Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the evening will include two bands – Mariachi Pueblo Viejo and Mariachi Rubor – and the Ballet Folklorico Esperanza. The special guest will be Emilo Romen.
Mariachi Pueblo Viejo is composed of professionals and college students. The group, founded in 2021 by Manny Ponce, works to preserve the authentic mariachi sound and the culture attached to it.
Mariachi Rubor is an all-female band, made up of women in nursing, communication, education criminal justice, finance, human resources, and the police force coming together to preserve the rich Mariachi tradition. Fans of Mariachi Rubor may purchase white and red T-shirts featuring the group's graphic design on their website.
Ballet Folklorico Esperanza, a non-profit 501(c)(3) dance company preserves and promotes Mexican culture "one dance at a time." Dancers from 5 years old to 18 learn grace, balance, strength and discipline, choreography, and performance. Students get acquainted with Mexican culture, customs, and regional traditions.
General admission tickets are $48 and VIP ones are $68. VIP tickets will include a pre-show reception from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
Amor Eterno will take place at the Piper Repertory Theater at the Mesa Arts Center on Saturday, May 11 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
