Mesa insomniacs run and bike at night
Now is the time for Mesa night owls to get in shape and enjoy races in the Insomniac Night Trail Ride and Race series – both of which will be coming toward the end of July.
Stunner Night Rides will be a collection of mountain bike rides along trails in the Usery Mountain Regional Park, 3939 N Usery Pass Road.
Registration and bib pickup will begin at 6:00 pm on race day, which is July 21, followed by the six-hour duo and single start at 7:00 pm. The three-hour solo riders will begin at 7:15 pm and that will be followed by the 10.5-mile solo start at 7:30 pm. Then, 10.5-mile juniors will begin their rides at 7:45 pm. The three-hour ride ends at 10:15 pm and the six-hour ride will end at 1:00 am.
All finishers will receive wood race medals replete with the Stunner Night Rides logo design. An after-ride Race Village will feature a food tent, sponsors, and event partners activation areas, camping opportunities, and medical staff. The bike rides are limited to 200 participants.
The next day, July 22, the 50k, 25k, 12k, and 6k Stunner Night Runs will take place in the park.
Race perks will include finish line photos, trail gaiters, ice coffee bar, aid station, and artwork finisher awards. The field will be limited to 400 runners.
The 50k starts at 7:30 pm, the 25k at 7:45 pm, the 12k at 8:15 pm, and the 6k at 8:30 pm.
