What's Happening in Mesa, AZ…

Mesa holiday season offers plenty of music

The Christmas Season here in Mesa will be filled with music as holiday performances at the Mesa Arts Center and are scheduled for November and December.

Under the Streetlamp will begin the season Friday, November 25 from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm in the Ikeda Theater with Hip to the Holidays, a performance of American Radio Songbook tunes, holiday favorites, snippets from their studio album Hip to the Holidays, and live PBS Specials.

On Sunday, November 27, Mannheim Steamroller Christmas will have two performances – running from 3:00 pm to 6:00pm, and 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm – in the Ikeda Theater. Audiences will be treated to Chip Davis’s new show, which will include multimedia effects along with the group’s distinctive signature sound.

Ballet Etudes will present its 36th annual Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” from December 10 to 18 in the Piper Repertory Theater.

Harry Connick Jr. will take to the stage Monday and Tuesday, December 12 and 13, from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm for “A Holiday Celebration.” He will be singing seasonal classics as well as some of his original pieces such as “When My Heart Finds Christmas” and “(It Must’ve Ben Ol’) Santa Claus.”

Finally, the Phoenix Symphony and Chorus will present Handel’s Messiah with its inspiring “Hallelujah” chorus on Friday, December 16, beginning at 7:30 pm in the Ikeda Theater.

Larger businesses often give tickets to holiday events such as these as corporate gifts to their high-end clients.
