Springdale program to celebrate illustrator
The Springdale Public Library will hold a free children's activity that honors a notable author and illustrator.
Read Across America: Celebrate Mo Willems is a library program where kids can enjoy the works of Mo Willems and participate in a themed crafting activity. The event is also part of the library’s Storytime with Ms. Tatiana series. Willems is a writer and animator who has worked on several famous projects, including Codename: Kids Next Door and Sheep in the Big City. He also published books such as Leonardo the Terrible Monster and Cat the Cat.
Read Across America is a program that started in 1998 to help children and teens become motivated to read. The events were launched by the National Education Association and focused on books that helped kids see different perspectives and find representation for themselves. Read Across America is celebrated by teachers, librarians, parents, and politicians. People can take part in the program throughout the year, and there are also major events held during March.
The reading and crafting activity will take place at the Springdale Public Library’s children’s department on Saturday, March 22nd from 10:30 am to noon. There is no cost for families to enjoy this in-person event, and registration with the library isn’t needed. Organizations that participate in national activities similar to this may use printing services to make appealing ads for their events.
