Springdale to have Cinco de Mayo celebration
The Hispanic Women's Organization of Arkansas (HWOA) will organize a community festival in Springdale in a few days.
The Cinco de Mayo Festival is a family-friendly cultural experience where guests can take part in fun themed activities and try foods from different areas of the world. There will also be live musical performances at the fest, and families can participate in activities like games. The funds from the event will help the HWOA fund scholarships for deserving Latino students. The scholarship program began in 2000 and has given financial assistance to over 600 children.
The HWOA is an organization that provides educational opportunities to Hispanic families and helps people learn about Hispanic culture. The group has created several programs that benefit Latino members of the community, such as the GEM Program and RAD Program. The organization was formed in 1999 and has helped people by offering computer classes and voter registration assistance. Companies can support the HWOA by sponsoring the group.
The Cinco de Mayo festival will be on Saturday, May 3 from noon to 7:00 pm. There is no cost for families to attend the HWOA's program, though attendees can donate to the group's scholarship fund. No registration is needed for the cultural experience. Organizations that host group celebrations like this may use poster printing services to help market their parties to more people.
