Springdale to kick off reading program with family event

The Springdale Public Library will organize an event in June at Murphy Park to promote the start of its summer reading program.

The Summer Reading Kick-Off is a community event where families can sign up for the Springdale Public Library’s reading program and enjoy fun activities. The festival will have stations for balloon animals, airbrush tattoos, and photos. There will also be a bounce obstacle course for kids, and all guests can receive a complimentary Kona Shaved Ice. C3 Brix, a company featured on Good Day New York and The Steve Harvey Show, will have a LEGO activity table at the event.

The Springdale Public Library’s summer reading program gives those of all ages an incentive to read more books. Kids can sign up at the library’s Children’s Desk, and those in grades eight and up can participate through the Beanstack App. People who complete eight badges on the app will be entered into a prize drawing. Those who sign up for the summer reading program will receive a gift. The event will conclude on August 1st, and winners will be chosen the following week.

The Summer Reading Kick-Off will be held on Saturday, June 7th from 10:00 am to noon. There is no admission cost for families to enjoy the library’s activities, and pre-registration isn’t required. Organizations that host similar community gatherings can share event details with more families by using print shops to make banners and flyers.
