Anchorage welcomes future pilots

An event is coming up in Anchorage that will give insights into the aviation industry to people who are wondering what a career as a pilot might be like.

Delta Private Jets and the Future and Active Pilot Advisors (FAPA) are joining to present “Building the Pilot Pipeline”, a forum to learn about the ways in which interested people can become professional pilots.

Candidates often include those who want to make a career change, students, and people leaving the military who have not worked in aviation fields, but anyone who is interested in flying is welcome. The pipeline concept means that as experienced pilots retire, new ones are already in training to keep slots filled and planes flying.

The forums held by FAPA are free, and explore information about the outlook for new pilots entering the aviation industry, flight schools, colleges, using veterans' benefits, and scholarships. Delta Private Jets and Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology are Platinum Partners with FAPA at times, and will be recruiting at some of the events. Past Platinum Partners include Envoy Air, Piedmont Airlines, and Air Wisconsin.

The forum in Anchorage begins at 1:00 pm on September 19, and concludes at 5:00 pm. The location is the Hotel Captain Cook on 5th Avenue. People interested in attending should pre-register at FAPA.area/FuturePilot. Print shops are an excellent resource to use in developing materials for events like this.
