The Alaska Aviation Museum in Anchorage will hold a party in October where people can support the museum.
The Big Band Bash is a yearly celebration with a 1940s theme that helps support the Alaska Aviation Museum’s mission of preserving local aviation history. The Anchorage Jazz Ensemble will provide live music entertainment for the evening, and guests can check out the historic planes at the venue. Guests may also participate in a 1940s costume contest and a silent auction. The event will debut a Victory Garden this year that will support the Food Bank of Alaska.
The Alaska Aviation Museum is an attraction that opened in 1988 that showcases planes from throughout all eras of Alaskan aviation. Phyllis Kilgore is the executive director of the museum. People can see several displays, including the 1943 Grumman G-44, the 1947 Republic RC-3 Seabee, and the 1944 Waco. The attraction also has a Virtual Reality Flight Simulator exhibit. Those who want to support the aviation museum can pay $50 for individual memberships.
The themed party will be held on Saturday, October 3 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Tickets will cost $125 per person, and admission without dinner can be bought for $50.
