Anchorage to host sustainability conference

The Dena’ina Civic Center in Anchorage will hold an energy sustainability convention in May.

The Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference is a yearly gathering of researchers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers that lets attendees discuss and explore the future of energy use in Alaska.

Magatte Wade, the host of The Magatte Wade Show and author of The Heart of a Cheetah, will be the keynote speaker of the conference. People can also hear from notable presenters such as Juan Pablo Carvallo, Nancy Dahlstrom, and Crystal Enkvist. There will also be an exhibitor hall at the event.

Businesses and organizations can pay to become sponsors for the energy conference. Those who pay $3,000 will receive benefits like complimentary tickets to the event, website recognition, and a designated space at the exhibitor hall. Higher sponsorship tiers will include perks such as logos being displayed on attendee Bags, representation on the event’s email blasts, and access to the VIP lounge. Companies may pay $50,000 to become the presenting sponsor.

The sustainable energy convention will be held from May 19 to May 21. All access passes to the conference will cost $745 per person, and regular passes to the event will be $600. Students interested in attending the convention may pay $350 for a three-day pass. Organizations that put together state conferences like this may use banner printing to improve the visibility of their events.
