Anchorage looks behind the music

An upcoming concert in Anchorage will pay tribute to the people behind the hits.

“Music City Hit Makers: The Songs, Their Stories, a Symphony,” is a chance for audiences to meet and hear hit songs performed by the artists who wrote them for other performers, who then went on to make them famous. The songwriters on the way to Anchorage have written for major stars like Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, and Kenny Chesney, among others.

The concert will feature 15 hits that went to No. 1, performed by the people who wrote them. The artists plan to sing their songs the same way they would in Nashville—in a round format. However, instead of playing their own hits, their backing group is the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra.

There is a talk planned before the performance, starting an hour before the curtain rises. Anyone may sit in on the free talk, which is not ticketed and will give some insights into what to expect during the performance, and some information about the songwriters.

The hitmakers concert is set for March 13 at 7:30 pm, at Atwood Concert Hall in Anchorage. The show is slightly less than two hours in length, including one intermission. Tickets are required for patrons of all ages, and the event is family-friendly. Flyer printing can be used to create informative handouts for events like this.
