Funding secured for Falkirk park path expansion

Falkirk Council and a community group have succeeded in securing more than £100,000 worth of financing that will enable them to expand the network of paths in a local park.

The outdoor access team from the council teamed up with the group Friends of Inchyra Park to try to raise the necessary cash. Together, they have managed to bring in a total of £105,000 for the project. Work on improving the path network at this park can now get underway and it is expected to take around 10 weeks to complete.

Professional flyer printing from shops in Falkirk can really help to spread the word about fundraising efforts such as this one.

Speaking to the Falkirk Herald, Adam Gillies from the community group stated that this showed how link-ups between different organisations can achieve results and that the group and council are both dedicated to improving the quality of life for people in the town.

He then went on to add:

“To complement these works and add to the funding, Friends of Inchyra Park has picked up the challenge which will see £8,500 of work completed through the nature restoration fund.”

In addition to the new paths, the park is set to get additional wildflower areas and a tree corridor, while the community orchard will be made bigger.
