An empty unit at a location in Falkirk that used to be home to a cycle shop could be set to be converted into a brand-new takeaway, with Plans for this having been submitted to Falkirk Council.
The unit in question is on Grahams Road in the town and housed the pram and cycle outlet Malleys for many years. This opened its doors in Falkirk early in the last century and continued to trade until six years ago, when the then-owner Laurence Bloch decided to close it down. Since then, it has been lying empty.
Now it could be set to get a new lease of life. It has since been purchased by Mohsan Choudry, and he has submitted a change of use application to the local council for the premises. Among other things, he is seeking to have a flue added to the building.
Little is known at present about exactly what sort of takeaway he hopes to create, but it seems likely that the council will want to get the building back into use. Flyer printing from shops in Falkirk is one way that the new owner could advertise the takeaway to local people.
Malleys was a fixture in the town for decades, with Ralph Bloch having taken it over in 1954, before passing it on to Laurence during the 1980s.Get a Free Quote for Plans
