This consultation process is being set up to find out how much interest there is among people living in Falkirk for this project. If it goes ahead, the hub would be constructed at a site in the town’s High Street and would combine offices for council use with a range of other facilities. These would include a bar, a café, a library, arts studios and a theatre.
Now Cecil Meiklejohn is calling on the public to take part in it, stating that she believes the hub would have a beneficial impact on the wider town centre if it was built.
Among the local businesses that often benefit from arts centres are graphic design outlets, which can base themselves there or provide services for artists using them.
Speaking to the Falkirk Herald, Meiklejohn stated that:
“One of the aims of the consultation is to spark people’s interest and get them involved so we can create a sense of hope and expectation for the future. We want people to be part of this and help shape it.”
Users of the library and Falkirk Town Hall will be the first to be asked for their opinions and ideas.
