Falkirk residents consulted on housing plans

People in Falkirk are to be given the opportunity to have their say about a planned housing development to be built at the former Forth Valley College site.

This project is the brainchild of Gannet Developments Ltd and the intention is to construct approximately 200 homes at the site. The consultation with the public is designed to get their thoughts about what sort of homes the area needs, as well as what amenities for children and community recreation use should be added.

Gannet Developments is keen to make it a blend of flats with between one and four bedrooms, semi-detached, detached and terraced houses. It has also indicated that it foresees 15% of the housing built at the chosen site being affordable homes.

Glossy colour brochure printing provided by outlets in Falkirk is one way that housing developers can show off the homes in their latest projects.

The developer is stating that it has been told by Falkirk estate agents that the area urgently needs new homes of all sorts, with large semi-detached ones being a particular shortage. However, it is keen to find out what residents have to say about both the homes and other facilities that would form part of any completed development.

The first part of the consultation will run until 25th February and a second part is to follow during the spring.
