The ambitious plan to restore a distillery in Falkirk to its former glories has now managed to get back on track after the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted it, and it is expected to be finished on time.
Work on restoring the Rosebank Distillery is costing millions of pounds to complete, but when this has been finished it will once more be fully operational as a whisky distillery. The project is also set to see a brand new café and a centre for visitors added to the building.
Visitor centres at attractions such as this one often stock promotional Pens provided by shops in Falkirk.
This distillery is an iconic feature of the town and dates back to the start of the 1800s, but it has not actually been in use since 1993. It was acquired by Ian MacLeod Distillers four years ago, with the intention of reviving it.
Permission to add a new extension to the building was granted back in the spring, but work was put on hold for several months due to both Covid-19 and the collapse of one of the walls.
Now it is moving at a rapid pace though and the manager Malcolm Rennie stated that progress since workers returned has been so good that it should be ready on schedule.
It is due to reopen in late Summer 2022.Get a Free Quote for Pens
