Jordan Allan, a teenager from Blantyre, was recently snapped up by Airdrie Football Club’s reserve team after a notable performance for the club’s under 15s squad. Jordan scored over 50 goals in 24 games and his talent for hitting the back of the net was spotted by Jimmy Boyle, a player in the club’s first team.
Jordan played his first game as part of the reserve team against Ayr, where the team won 5-1. He spoke about this to the Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser, saying:
“I found out I’d be included after that game against Dumbarton, which was on the Sunday. I was buzzing all week and I couldn’t wait to play. The boys were very good to me and made me feel really welcome. I was gutted not to score and I would love to get another chance to play at that level.
" I just want to keep my head down and work hard. My ambition is to work my way up to the first team and become a professional footballer.”
Local printing companies in Coatbridge and Airdrie are often approached by sports teams from the region to produce promotional items or souvenir materials. These firms could soon be printing Posters and programmes featuring Jordan Allan’s name if he achieves his ambition of making it to the first team in the next few years.
