Local actor to be showcased at film festivals

A local actor from the Coatbridge and Airdrie region is set for big things on the silver screen as he gets ready for his work to be shown at film festivals across the world.

Local thespian Scott Stewart may be just 20 years old but the young actor is tipped for big things in the world of film. Three films that Scott has starred in have already been chosen to be showcased at Glasgow Film Festival and one of his pictures is even set to make a big splash across the pond as it is shown at the prestigious New York Film Festival later in the year. Glasgow Film Festival is a popular event across Airdrie and Coatbridge with people travelling from all over to attend the festival after seeing promotional Posters created by local printing companies.

Coatbridge College was the place where Scott trained in performing arts. He recently commented on how his education helped him to become an actor, saying:

“I left school in fifth year and a friend mentioned an open day at Coatbridge College so I went down and signed up for the Performing Arts course, where I gained NQ and HND qualifications. I still get butterflies when I think about my work being shown but it has been a great experience so far.”

Glasgow Film Festival is due to be held in February 2013 and will be screening three of the films that Scott has starred in.
