A onetime local council representative has received a special tribute.
The Housing Association for Clyde Valley has honoured one of its long-serving representatives, the late Peter Sullivan, who served as a councillor for Coatbridge and nearby Airdrie. A recent event saw the former statesman recognised for his tireless efforts to the community with a place in Airdrie named after him.
The ceremony was attended by Lynn Wassel and Alan Murray for the housing association, along with councillors David Stocks and Jim Logue. The councillor’s grandchildren were also present for the unveiling of street Signs that honoured him.
Sullivan’s family members commented on the recent tribute:
“It was a lovely gesture from both CVHA and NLC to give him this type of recognition for all the work he has done for the community during his term as a member for both the Airdrie and Coatbridge communities”

The signs will be placed at a brand new residential development based in Airdrie that has 14 homes belonging to Clyde Valley Housing Association. The address for the development off Upper Mill Street will now be Sullivan Place.
The recent unveiling comes ahead of the first of many residents arriving in their new homes at the development.
