A pub known as McNeills based in Coatbridge on Glasgow’s south side was recently sold by the company Smith and Clough Business Associates, working with Dundas Heritable following receipt of high levels of interest.
Located on Torrisdale Street, the pub fist opened its doors in 1965 with the name “The Madeira”. However, it was later purchased by Billy McNeill and retitled with its present name.
While McNeil died back in 2019, he was one of Scotland’s most celebrated football players. He served as captain for Celtic's 'Lisbon Lions' and took them to a European Cup victory in 1967. He later spent two terms as the club's manager. Football clubs often look to expert printing services to create bespoke awards that honour valuable players and or celebrate important matches.
Commenting on the sale of McNeills and other local bars in the area via a post on LinkedIn, Smith and Clough Business Associates’ Jonathan Clough said:
“We are delighted to have completed on the sales of four freehold pubs on behalf of our clients Dundas Heritable after a short marketing period.”
He added that each pub sold had enjoyed strong interest and received multiple offers. The value of the deal for McNeills in Coatbridge has not been disclosed.
