The X Factor UK has showcased the talent of Ryan Lawrie; the Coatbridge singer believed that he had failed to get through to the boot camp stage. However, Mr. Lawrie, who is 20, got a wildcard to make the progress he had dreamt of. Only three other competitors managed to obtain this reprieve and Mr. Lawrie may use Business Cards from Coatbridge to advance his career.
Simon Cowell, the head judge on the talent series, called Mr. Lawrie to provide him with the good news. The singer was thrilled to receive the information. He described his joy to the Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser:
“It was totally unexpected to be named as a wildcard and I was absolutely buzzing to get a call from Simon. I’m really excited for it and with all the feelings and emotions running through me it just doesn’t feel real at all.”
The next stage of the contest involves flying out to Nice. Mr. Lawrie has to get the approval of Nicole Scherzinger to go even further in the competition. Ms. Scherzinger is a former member of The Pussycat Dolls.
Emily Middlemas, the girlfriend of Mr. Lawrie, has been starring in the show too. They met while working on the television programme. Mr. Lawrie has encouraged his girlfriend to make the most of the opportunities she has.
