Two musicians are set to honour being friends for a decade in Coatbridge later this year.
Scottish folk duo The Hikers have announced that this May, they will be playing a special performance in Coatbridge. Dubbed “Old Friends: Live In Concert”, the upcoming event is designed to celebrate the 10 years of friendship that bandmates Alex Thomas Crawford and Cameron Rankin have shared, and the two musicians are inviting all to attend.
Those celebrating important occasions like anniversaries and other milestones often employ professional printing services to create commemorative products from printed plaques to T-Shirts.
The Coatbridge celebration is presented in association with Cameron Publishing and ONE Church Scotland. While Rankin provides tambourine and baritone vocals, Crawford supplies tenor vocals and plays mandolin and guitar.
Born and raised in Scotland, the two friends met when they were aged just six, and later formed The Hikers at age 14 in 2021. The band have recorded and released their own rendition of “Flower of Scotland” as a single.
The Hikers’ Old Friends: Live in Concert event will be held on Saturday, May 27 May at ONE Church Scotland. The venue can be found at 43 Jackson Street in Coatbridge, and the show will run from 7.30 pm until 10 pm. The doors will open at 7 pm, and all attending are asked to arrive on time to avoid disrupting the performance.
