Coatbridge author promotes thriller

A writer from Coatbridge is publicising his latest book.

Coatbridge’s Owen Mullen is marketing a gangland thriller titled ‘Family’. To that end, he has decided to give away 10 e-Books. Print shops can help the creative industries when the profile of products has to be raised.

Mullen told the Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser:

“I’m well into double figures now with the Books I’ve written and I still get a great thrill when I see the work released into the public eye.”

Mullen’s confidence comes on the back of considerable commercial and critical success as a consequence of his efforts.

The plot of the new book has been outlined by Mullen. The story revolves around the criminal activities of the London-based Glass family. The protagonist, Luke, is trying to get his life on the straight and narrow, but his brother Danny has other ideas, and the presence of a corrupt policeman complicates matters further. Oliver Stanford is doing well at the Met, but he has not been following the rules. When an awful crime is committed by Danny, it triggers antagonism between the brothers.

Mullen, who intends to extend his literary career, divides his time between a villa in Greece and a home in North Lanarkshire. His book giveaway was aimed at local people and he is pleased to contribute something to the community.
