Cheap bus deal lasts until the end of January

A night bus service that serves between Glasgow and Coatbridge is offering two-for-one ticket prices for the first month. The bus service in question is being provided by the First Glasgow operator.

Fiona Kerr, the managing director of First Glasgow, has said previously that:

“The introduction of our festive night bus fares is good news for revellers. It is fantastic value to transport two customers home for £2 and is sure to prove popular with customers throughout December and January.”

Every weekend, 11 night buses have been departing from the centre of Glasgow. The bus routes have helped customers living in Clydebank, Drumchapel, Coatbridge, Easterhouse, East Kilbride, Castlemilk, Newton Mearns, Pollok and Motherwell.

The initiative began before Christmas with considerable publicity. The two-for-the-price-of-one offer was advertised by passenger Coral Homes, who wore a onesie for promotional purposes. Homes has said that the night bus is a convenient and affordable travel option when compared to using taxis. The bus rides cost either £2 or £3 for a single ticket and are spaced out from 12:30 am to 4:30 am.

Ms. Homes and Shawlands resident Guilo Girasoli got on a bus together at the event, which marked the beginning of the deal. Printing services near Coatbridge may have been used to ensure that as many residents as possible knew what was available, and that they are aware that it is extending well into 2014 for those looking to make a late night journey.
