Budding rock stars get chance to play at festival

Wannabe rock stars across Scotland are being offered the chance to play live at this year's T in the Park festival thanks to a talent-finding competition.

T in the Park has run a successful search for new Scottish musical talent over the last few years, offering the nation's bands the chance to play live to the T in the Park audience on the T Break stage, which is dedicated to new and emerging artists.

The head of sponsorship for Tennent's Lager, George Kyle, spoke about the contest, saying:

“Tennent's believe passionately in supporting Scotland's grassroots music scene, there is a wealth of unique, emerging talent in this country. T Break is one of the highlights of T in the Park year after year and I'm sure this year will be no different.”

Brown Bear and the Bandits were the winners of last year's competition and the pop/folk group played the T Break stage in 2012. The band said:

“"Playing the T Break Stage in 2012 was a great opportunity for us, not only to play live to a large festival crowd but it also opened doors for us and gained us national exposure in the Scottish press.”

T in the Park has been advertised across the UK with Posters and Flyers produced using full colour printing. Coatbridge, like the rest of Scotland, is home to a number of budding musicians who are likely to be entering the contest to win the spot on the T Break stage.

T in the Park takes place from July 12 - 14 and tickets are on sale now.
