1k collected for cancer charity in Coatbridge

Local woman Lara McBride has raised in excess of £1,000 for a charitable organisation by arranging an event in North Lanarkshire.

Ms McBride, who is 20, used a venue called Aleysha’s Attic for the fundraising occasion. She obtained the money in order to assist Maggie’s Lanarkshire Centre. This local charity aims to provide assistance to the families of people who are hit with a cancer diagnosis.

Ms McBride is currently employed at the Heritage pub, and her work colleagues assisted her in putting on the event. Musicians contributed by providing live performances on the night. If Ms McBride wants to put on a similar fundraising event again, she could use flyer printing in Coatbridge for promotional purposes.

She has told the Daily Record:

“I would like to say a special thanks to everyone who attended and to my family and friends and regulars of the Heritage Bar for their support and donations. I’d also like to thank the fantastic staff at the Heritage Bar for all the support they gave me during the planning of this event.”

There was an auction of paintings on the evening, and these had been produced by the brother of Ms McBride. In addition, there was bidding for various items of merchandise related to Celtic, which were provided by the football club. Volunteers also had waxes done to raise money.
