Romford hub celebrates first anniversary
The Retailery, which is based in Romford Market, has held an event to mark its anniversary.
The organisation is credited with helping to revive the town centre of Romford. It houses start-ups and features entertainment. Digital business cards from Romford can be ideal for SMEs.
A Community Initiative Company (CIC) called Made Public is involved in the management of The Retailery. Lauren Martin of Made Public told the Romford Recorder:
A wide range of activities was held over several days to showcase the business hub. The co-working space was used to accommodate live music, face painting, food provision and a music quiz. Reggae DJs also stepped up to the plate.
Martin took the opportunity to report on the progress which has been achieved so far. Over 50 jobs have already been created by the start-ups that have received help at The Retailery.
Made Public has other aspirations too. It wants to produce a mural. This art would be used in a project called Lost Voices. Funding is still needed with regard to this initiative.

“It was amazing to see so many new and familiar faces at our first birthday celebrations. We feel the local community and beyond have really taken The Retailery to their hearts and it’s amazing to have been able to play such an integral part in bringing such a unique and vibrant space to Romford.”
