A building in Romford that used to be occupied by a nightclub could be set for demolition, if new housing Plans are approved by Havering Council.
The local authority has received a planning application to knock this building down and construct an eight storey shared living block on the site. The building in question is in South Street and was formerly home to a nightclub called Atik. This was launched back in 2018, but closed its doors for good a year ago and the building has been empty ever since. It is currently in a poor condition and has been vandalised several times.
If the council gives the nod to the application, a new building comprising a total of 285 accommodation units will be constructed. These will be divided into three categories, with homes for 28, 21 and 18 people respectively.
