What's Happening in Romford, Essex, England…

Romford to host seasonal musical

"Elf The Musical", based on the 2003 starring Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel, is due to be held in Romford in mid-December.

This is the humorous story of Buddy, an orphan child who accidentally clambers into Santa's bag and finds himself relocated to the North Pole. There, he is raised as an elf, but his large size and lack of toy making skills forces him to face up to reality.

Buddy, with Santa's agreement, sets out on a journey to the city of New York, in order to discover his real father and family. However, with love interest Jovie, then embarks on a personal mission to remind New York of the meaning of Christmas.

The musical is presented by the Brookside Theatre, the same group who developed previous productions such as "A Christmas Carol", "Peter Pan" and "The Wizard of Oz". It includes songs by Chad Beguelin and Matthew Sklar both of whom are Tony Award nominees. The script is by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan, who are Tony Award winners.

Ticket prices start at £15 for under 16s, £17 for the over-65s, and £20 for an adult, all inclusive of a £1.50 booking fee. Logo design is an important consideration when branding a forthcoming stage show or event.

The show is due to take place between Friday, December 10 and Thursday, December 23, at The Brookside Theatre, Romford.
