Temporary closure for recycling centre in Oadby

The main waste and recycling centre in Oadby is set for temporary closure, so that important renovation work can be carried out at the site.

Leicestershire County Council has revealed that this centre will be shutting its doors from the end of the month. The centre in question is the Oadby Recycling and Household Waste Site, which is situated on Wigston Road. It is being closed so that work can be done to replace a floor that has become unsafe. The floor has been in place for two decades, but the council has identified safety issues with it. In a statement that it released, the local authority said that the closure was necessary to make sure the facility is safe for the public and for the staff.
