What's Happening in Oadby, Leicester, England…

Housing plan for pub near Oadby

A former pub building situated near Oadby could be knocked down in favour of housing if the plans for this are given the nod by the local council.

The building in question used to be home to a pub called The Nautical William that was very popular in the local area. It closed its doors for good four years ago though, and the building has been disused ever since. Now an application has been submitted to knock it down and construct 14 homes on the land. The man behind this application is Jon Lewis.

Lewis hopes to construct a development that would feature three homes with three bedrooms, five with two bedrooms and six with one bedroom. The empty pub building is situated on Aylestone Lane in Wigston.

When local housing developers have new properties for sale or rent, they need to showcase them to the public. Print shops in Oadby that offer brochure printing can help with this by designing brochures to professionally showcase pictures and specifications of the homes.

In addition to the housing, this development would feature a courtyard area for vehicle parking. There would be two parking spaces for each of the three and two-bedroom homes. Those with a single bedroom would have one space.

The application argues that the scheme would make a positive difference to the area. Oadby and Wigston Borough Council will decide by next January.
